San Miguel de Allende!

San Miguel!

Mercado

Mercado!

So excited to share this blog post with you today!

Mercado = think of it like a farmers market, where you can buy food directly from the producers. But in a mercado in Mexico you can find all kinds of things – fruits, piñatas, meats, quesadillas and a million more things. I used to go to the mercado with my mom every other weekend when I was younger and we got the most delicious fruit and vegetables.

In this post, I’m going to share the beauty secrets that I use after going on a trip. It doesn’t matter if it’s a road trip or on an airplane. My face always used to act up right on my way to a vacation or on the way back, so I started this beauty routine.

Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe

This place is definitely one of my happy places. It doesn’t matter if it’s summer or winter, it’s so relaxing and beautiful. And this time it’s even better because I got to show off some Mexican designs while I’m here, and today I’m sharing a swimsuit coverup that I’m in love with! I got so many compliments on this coverup by Santa Bahia – you can look for them on Instagram, there are so many colors and designs!!

This is me!

Hola! I’m a 100% Mexican girl and I moved to California seven years ago to learn English. A few months after my arrival, I met the cutest, most amazing man I have ever met, who I’m so lucky to now call my husband.  We have a little family of 3 with our super cute Siberian Husky, Lobo (wolf in Spanish). About 6 months ago, my husband asked if I would want to travel the world, and especially around Mexico for a while longer so he could learn Spanish, experience the culture first hand, and get to know my country in all it’s beauty. Now we’re here and we can’t wait to keep exploring and posting about our favorite places, including dog friendly places and of course, food, because we are huge foodies. I have always enjoyed fashion – it is another type of art and a way to express myself . My goal right now is to add more Mexican made clothing and accessories to my style. I am totally obsessed with hats and rings – I probably have too many (sorry I’m not sorry). Taking photographs and going to wineries with my family is my happy place. I feel great when I go on a hike with my love, my baby (my dog) and my camera. I’m all about hikes and beautiful places. And I can’t wait to share all our adventures and tips for traveling so you don’t make the same mistakes I made overpacking, under-packing and lots more.
Besos, Daphne.

PALM SPRINGS

We started our big adventure of driving to Mexico from our house in Pacifica, CA. The only things I brought are my husband, my Lobo (my dog), my Jeep and 3 suitcases. Our plan was to drive to LA, but on the drive down we decided that we should stay in places that we haven’t visited before.

tell the world that I’m coming home!

So excited to share that we will be moving to Mexico in March for a little while. We will be traveling and I’m going to be sharing my culture with the love of my life and my baby (dog). Some of you know I started the blog because of a class, but now it’s going to be a way for me to show you my life in the USA and my country, Mexico, once we move. We would love to hear recommendations of places …

Homemade coffee facial scrub !

IMG_7853

So excited to share my first  homemade beauty tip!

This is definitely one of my favorites – it scrubs my face and makes it super soft.

What you need:

3 tablespoons of crushed coffee beans (you can use used beans)

1 tablespoon of honey

What you need to do:

Mix the coffee and honey until you get a paste, then put it on your face and gently rub it in. Do not get it close to your eyes – as they are very sensitive. You can use it on your elbows and knees too!

Hope you enjoy it! Tag me on your photos if you do it! #fromsweatstochic
